Privacy & cookie policy
Version 0.1 · Last updated 14 October 2026
1. Who we are
Funding Pilot is a trading name of [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [00000000]), registered office [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("Funding Pilot", "we", "us").
We are the data controller for the personal information you give us through this website. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number [ZA000000].
Funding Pilot is an introducer. We are not a lender or a broker and we do not give financial advice. We introduce businesses looking for finance to specialist finance brokers.
Questions about this policy or your data: privacy@fundingpilot.co.uk.
2. The information we collect
Information you give us
- About your finance needs: the type of finance, amount, purpose and timescale.
- About your business: business type (for example limited company or sole trader), business or trading name, how long it has been trading, annual turnover, and the amount and type of funding you're looking for.
- About you, if we ask: whether you own your home, and how you'd describe your own personal credit history. Some lenders take these into account. We don't run credit checks ourselves.
- Contact details: your name, email address and mobile number.
- Your consent choices and when you made them.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and pages viewed.
- Form usage: which steps of our form you view and complete, so we can make it easier to use. We do not record what you type into these analytics.
- Advertising data: if you arrived from one of our adverts and have accepted marketing cookies, identifiers that tell us which advert you came from (see section 8).
We don't knowingly collect special category data (such as health information), and the service is not intended for anyone under 18.
3. How we use it and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Introducing you to a finance broker matched to your request, and passing them your details | Consent: you tick a box to agree before we share anything. You can withdraw consent at any time (section 7). |
| Checking whether we can help (for example, our eligibility rules) and contacting you about your enquiry | Legitimate interests in responding to your enquiry, or steps you've asked us to take before a contract. |
| Preventing fraud and spam, and keeping our service secure | Legitimate interests |
| Understanding how our website and forms perform (analytics) | Consent where cookies or similar technology are used. Otherwise legitimate interests for anonymous, aggregated statistics. |
| Measuring and improving our advertising on Facebook and Instagram | Consent (marketing cookies and sharing with Meta, see section 8) |
| Keeping records of introductions and fees paid to us by brokers, and complying with the law | Legal obligation and legitimate interests |
We will only send you marketing about other products if you have separately opted in. You can opt out at any time.
4. Who we share it with
- Finance brokers: with your consent, one or more specialist commercial finance brokers that we work with, chosen to match your request. Each broker becomes a separate data controller for your information and will give you their own privacy notice. Our current partner brokers are listed at [URL or "available on request"].
- Service providers who process data for us under contract and only on our instructions: Cloudflare (website hosting and security), Google Cloud (application hosting and secure storage), Resend (email delivery), PostHog (website analytics, EU-hosted).
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd: if you accept marketing cookies, we share limited, mostly encrypted (hashed) information with Meta to measure our adverts. Meta acts as a joint controller for this. See section 8.
- Regulators, law enforcement or professional advisers where we are required to by law or to protect our legal rights.
- A buyer of our business, if we sell or reorganise it, who will be bound by this policy.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or list sellers.
How we are paid
Our service is free for you to use. If a broker we introduce you to arranges finance for your business, the broker pays us a fee out of the commission they earn. This doesn't change what you pay.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers are based in, or may access data from, the United States. Where this happens we rely on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to protect your information.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to an introduction or deal: deleted within [12 months] of your last contact with us.
- Records of introductions and fees: kept for [6 years] for accounting and legal purposes.
- Analytics data: kept for up to [12 months], in aggregated or pseudonymous form where possible.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (this doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it). To use any of these rights, email privacy@fundingpilot.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.
If you've already been introduced to a broker, please contact them as well, because they control their own copy of your information.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We ask for your permission before setting any cookies that aren't strictly necessary. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in our footer.
| Category | What it does | Provider | Needs consent? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Remembers your answers as you move through the form, protects against spam (Cloudflare Turnstile), and remembers your cookie choice. | Funding Pilot, Cloudflare | No |
| Analytics | Shows us which form steps people complete or leave, so we can improve the form. | PostHog (EU) | Yes |
| Marketing | Meta Pixel and Conversions API: tells Meta when someone who saw our advert completes an enquiry, so we can measure and improve our adverts. | Meta | Yes |
9. Security
Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted to people who need it, and we use reputable providers with strong security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if anything changes and show the date of the latest version at the top.
